KIRSCHSTEIN /HARTMANN /MARX / Staub.../GEBAUER

Deutsche Übersetzung UNTEN GERMAN TRANSLATION BELOW

Advice and guidance needed please. I have an opportunity to travel to Berlin, Germany in the next few weeks. I was considering doing research in Silesia but I am not sure if this is better accomplished by email than by going in person to a library or building..... because I don't know exactly where to look. I don't speak German or Polish. I have trouble following where the best place to research will be? Churches? Berlin? Polish Archives? They owned a hotel/guesthouse. Where can I find those records? I am unsure of the names of the towns. I have limited dates.

These Kirschsteins were catholic.
Franz KIRSCHSTEIN born Nov. 5 1829 married Anna MARX born Jan. 31 1835 (possibly in Strehlen?)
They had at least 2 children
     One son, name unknown.
Their other son, Paul KIRSCHSTEIN born May 6 1872, married Sofia ( Sophie?) STAUB... ( the text was unreadable, so we do not know the full last name)
They married April 1 1899 and were hotelbesitzers in Strehlen or Gollschau possibly .
** where can I find hotel owner information if I don't know the exact town??**
Paul and Sofia had 2 children-- one was Walter KIRSCHSTEIN , my grandfather. All were Catholic

My grandparents, Walter KIRSCHSTEIN and Luzie HARTMANN married CATHOLIC on November 21, 1932 in Giersdorf/Baberhauser area we think. How do I find the church? Will it give me the names of their parents and where they are from? They also lived in Wolfshau at the end of the war.... at the time they were forced out.

These HARTMANN were Protestant. The Hartmanns, Georg HARTMANN born Dec 11 1868 ( before marriage he was a travelling salesman and we are not sure where he is from originally) and Minna GEBAUER ( not sure this name is correct) born Dec. 18 1872 were from Baberhauser and were protestant . I have zero documentation on these people and I don't know when they married. They had 6 children. I cant find any information on Baberhauser but they owned the Tumpsahuttenbaude (Tumpsabaude) Inn. The WANG CHURCH where 4 of the Hartmann's 6 children got married, provided me with marriage records. No information on the names of their parents were included, nor where they were from originally. I corresponded by mail as I when I called, I was hung up on twice. I did not take into consideration the people in Poland today, which used to be Germany, may NOT want to help me. I am starting to understand that.
I know they are buried in Berlin Friedenau as they both died in 1949 or 1950. When I called, they have no listing of people buried there. and there are many parts to the cemetery.

I also wrote to Standesamt I in Berlin..... they need 20 months process a request but cannot guarantee they have any information.
thank you for any advice/ help
