I am researching my Great Grandfather William Thomas Kielhorn b Sep 1869 in Illinois died May 1929 in Indiana USA. who married a Ella Pence in 1894 . Need any information of his family prior to coming to USA. His father possibly was a William Kielhorn.

I see you have information on your William Thomas Kielhorn from 1869 to present. Have you had any luck finding records from the German Protestant Orphans Home on St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis? I've done a quick search of the census and haven't found him in the 1870 Census. If he was born in Illinois and was in St. Louis by 1880 then I'd suspect he was born just across the river in St. Clair, Monroe, or Randolph County. All of those counties had large German populations. You stated in your email that you had information on the family from 1869 to present, but I assume you haven't found him in the 1870 census as that would have given his parents names most likely. Another thing to check, what church did he belong to in Indiana? You might see if his funeral record gives information on his parents or where they were from.
