Hallo,
Because my mother lived on Kemp Dr. I happend to discover following:
Lillian M. Boesewetter
3114 Kemp Dr.
Father: Frank Voss
Mother: Anna Winkles
Husband: George Boesewetter
The ^ people don't sound familiar to me....but I think they lived very close to your possible George Twenhafel.
Asked mom about Twenhafel family... she did not have any recollections. Perhaps some of the Aunts or Uncle's might..but they are younger than mom. Next get together I will ask anyhow.
I think the George Twenhafel family lived 3118 Kemp...^ family lived 3114 Kemp....
Mom's house was near the end of Kemp. I remember when I was little walking past two or three houses..to get to the candy store. I think name of store was Godats..
Mom tells me that after supper on those hot summer evenings her dad would send her and the kids to Godats for 14 vanilla ice cream cones...and she had to take at least three siblings for the walk there in order to carry home the cones..lol....and that her dad always needed two ice cream cones.
Well I transgress.
I remember the neighborhood a bit. I remember there were shortcut sidewalks throughout the neighborhood and along some of the paths you would stumble across really lovely gardens. I remember a lady having giant red Canna Flowers along the walk and always seeing humming birds there.
I remember people having Snow Ball Trees. Viburnums
?? Well anyway...I miss those snow ball trees. Maybe they were shrubs..but to me they were special.
Well,
Barbie
