Here is some more non-help. Old script "t"s can look much
like a traditional American "l", so Werner's reference to
Kattenberg could also be in the ballpark.
However, if you are sure that the town was in the KOH,
then I would stick with Katlenburg. There are church
records available with the FHC

The use of "Hanover" after 1871 does make me wonder a
little bit, but it takes a while for people to get used to
political changes.
Oh Oh!! I just got Guenter's e-mail. It makes sense
because references after 1871 would more likely be to the
city of Hanover than the KOH. If this is the right town you have the following resources at the FHS.
