Hi Bernadette: Yes, my grandfather was named Friedrich Dietrich Campsheide. The initial letter "C" and "K" switched back and forth over the centuries. The family uses C and the place (at present) is spelled with a K. It is not even a dorf - just a very large farm directly west and partly surrounding Asendorf and belongs to Kirchspiel Asendorf. When I was last there many years ago, it had 4 or 5 tenant houses but no mill that I knew of. They were quite wealthy and probably the most prominent family in Asendorf.
Der Alte Herr - as we called him - had been Brgermeister of Asendorf, president of the local bank, etc. But the family was dying out, sadly. Der alte Herr died in the 1970s and his last daughter - my cousin Lilly, never married and died in 1992. I don't know who owns the farm now. If you are interested, I can tell you some of the strange (mostly sad) family stories including that of my own grandfather Friedrich. Incidentally, he married Marie Anna Bruns from Vilsen, my grandmother. They emigrated to the US in 1891. Mfg, Jane

wow... that's so interesting! thank you! i looked on
google earth and found 2 streets in kampsheide and
surrounding called "Mhlenweg" and "Mhlenstrae".
this "ort" is so tiny!
also by google-ing i found some ahlers in "graue" a
few hundered meters away.
i emailed the standesamt if they can tell me in which
mill he worked. the standesamt couldn't tell me
anything about his parents and gave me the telephone
number of the church. i am going to have a look in the
church books if i don't get any useful information
from the census. i guess you don't have a copy of it -
the martfeld census? where did you get your
information from - church books? i must order the
census from the mormones next week.
maybe some adresses match with yours once i know more.
