I don't speak German so I'm hoping, someone can help me with this although
my daughter does a little.
I am trying to locate the ancestry of my great grandfather Johannes Wilde,
born 1 September 1838, in Schnellewalde (now Szybowice, Prudnik region),
Oberschlesien, Prussia. He married in Detroit, USA to Emegattin Mina Enke
in 1863 after emigrating to the USA on 10 June,1862 from the port of
Hamburg. He died 26 July 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He was a member
of the Lutheran church I believe.
He had a brother Thomas Wilde (born ???), who also emigrated to the USA, and
a brother Martin Wilde born 20 July 1826 in Szybowice (formerly the Prussian
town of Schnellewalde), Prudnik area, who also emigrated to the USA. This
Martin Wilde was believed to have made the trip to the USA in 1858. I also
believe he had a third brother Friedrick Wilde who may have been born in
Jekalerenoslanki, Germany. This Friedrick Wilde he had a son Robert, and
ten other children. Friedrick Wilde's son Robert was the only one who came
to America in about 1909 or 1910. Martin emigrated to White Russia
(Hartmans Fabriek, Stadt Lugiens Rushland), in 1891.
My ancestor Johannes Wilde (born 1838) was last listed in Neustadt in 1862
before leaving for the USA. Someone sent Johannes an obituary newspaper
article around 1900 of a Gottlieb Wilde (from Gazorse, near the Russian
border) who died in the early 1900s. There also may be a Constantin Wilde
who may be a relative of his.
