Hello List Members,

oo 8 Nov 1747 Temple Neuf, Strasbourg, with Maria Barbara Ulmann, daughter of Pastor Johann Friedrich Ulmann and Maria Barbara Hirschel.

All 9 children were baptized at Temple Neuf et Cathédrale:

He died between 1764 (the birth of his last child) and 21 Jan 1791, (the death date of his widow) and I have searched without luck so far. Can anyone help me?

Greetings from Minnesota, USA

Hello Susanne,

you can search by yourself the online churchbooks of Strassbourg at:
http://etat-civil.bas-rhin.fr/adeloch/index.php

You have to click behind "J'accepte ces conditions" and then on "Accder la version graphique".
Now you write Stras and click on Strasbourg. Now you have to look for the books "Paroisse protestante (Temple Neuf et Cathedrale). There is one book "Table des S". This is a register with the death from 1769 to 1792. But every year is separate, but sorted alphabetically.

I wish you good luck to find the death of Johann Georg Klein. The birth certificate I found in the book "B 1715-1726".

Hello Bernd,

thank you for your suggestion. I have been looking through the death records for Temple Neuf as well as the Hospital but I have not been able to find Johann Jacob KLEIN, Sattler and Bürger in Strasbourg. I also looked through St. Thomas records, but without success. Is there anyplace else I can look?

His son, my direct ancestor Geor Heinrich Klein *1759, went to the Jean Sturm Gymnasium where he was listed 12 April 1768 as a 8 year old student. He became a Chirurgus and later worked for the Princes of Nassau-Weilburg in Kirchheimbolanden, now Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Do you know of a school in Strasbourg where he may have studied medicine after he finished the Gymnasium?

Thank you for your help,

Best regards,

Susanne
