Jacobs married to Sophia Caeseker 2/2/1853 in Washington County. If that is
your relative, you can order the record and it may give his place of birth
and parents' names. You can look at that site:
If that doesn't give you the birthplace and parents, you should also
find out about the church(s) in that town (there are 3, but you'd have to
find out which was in existence in 1853 and contact them to find birth
certificates for their children as well. Those items often give birthplace.

Gerhardt is the brother, and the information you found is correct, it comes
from the Ebenezer Church Records - but those records never give the place
they came from.
