JECHEL/JECKEL Family

Hello All,
Still looking for any leads on my JECHEL/JECKEL
family. John and Barbara arrived in America on Nov 2,
1847 - my research into the home of origin is spotty -
most censuses and death certificate information says
simply "Prussia" - I have two separate family
Naturalization Records that have not helped out much
either - one says COPLENZ, Prussia (should be Coblenz)
and another said KREUZNACH, Prussia - I've had a
professional genealogist research the family, and did
indeed find that they were in Coblenz for a short
period of time before emigrating, but there were no
civil records to say where the family came from before
living in Coblenz - no records on the family in
Kreuznach either. They sailed to America out of
Antwerp, BE.

I have one oddball 1880 census for one of the
children, and he reported that the family came from
Wuertemburg - the family name was spelled many ways,
including JECHEL, JECKEL, JEKEL, JACKEL, JAKEL, etc
(over 40 variants that I've found so far)...hoping to
find the needle in the genealogy haystack, so to
speak...any ideas welcome.

Happy New Year!
Joe

By the way, I have a transcribed ship manifest that my
family arrived on in November 1847, with over 200
Prussian/German immigrants listed. Also, my family
trees are on my page as well - weblink:

then go to the genealogy link for the information.

Joseph -in the Marvel/Gambrel family tree;, there is one
Kirby Yeakel who was born in McLean county, IL Dec 14 1859
His parents, Levi and Rebecca (Whistler) Yeakel, were from
Rockingham county in the valley of Virginia. They immigrated to
Illinois, and settled in McLean county in 1854. Later they moved
to Waynesville, IL where Douglas A. Yeakel with some of his
brothers, was engaged in ;the manufacture of brick.
There is quite a bit more - members of Episcopal Methodist church,
names of children and who they married.

If this interests you, let me know and I will send you the rest.
