I missed the original posting.
I am interested in any information about the JANSING family from
Lingen. I know that the family was from St. Bonafatius Parish which
is a Catholic Church. Johann Heinrich was born 26 Nov. 1819 and he
married Anna Gesina KUHR. They emigrated to the U.S. in 1854. They
had 3 children in Lingen.
Anna Catharina born 4 Mar 1954; Johann Heinrich born 9 Oct 1849;
and Johann
Wilhelm born 4 Oct 1851. My ancestor is Johann Heinrich who moved
to Indiana. I am interested in any of the other siblings or parents
of the eldest Johann Heinrich and Anna Gesina.
All those people are listed in the book about emigration from the county
of Lingen by Walter Tenfelde.
From this (german) book I can only add:
Jansing, Johann Heinrich, * 26. 11. 1819, Lingen
married 18. 7. 1848 in Lingen to Anna Gesina Kuhr
parents: Johann Heinrich Jansing and Anna Gertrud Agnes.
Kuhr, Anna Gesina, * 3. 9. 1821, Lingen-Laxten
married 18. 7. 1848 in Lingen ...
parents: school teacher and hireman Johann Heinrich Kuhr and Margaretha
Elisabeth Wesseling.
Regarding the Wesseling you could look up the homepage of Marge Reid at
She also has Wesseling-ancestors from Lingen.
The book has two entries for Kuhr from Laxten, one was a priest who died
18. 7. 1878 in Cincinnati.
There are also two people by name of Agnes, who emigrated, but from
Messingen.
I would also be interested in any information about the area of
Lingen.
I can't add anything to what Fred wrote.
