To the List,
My ancestor Jakob Prillevitz (1615-1691) was rektor of the Latin school in Greifswald (cantor, zuletst Rektor der Ratsschule Greifswald). His parents were Jakob Prillwitz and Ursula Gildemeister, both from the city of Demmin). Does anyone knows something about these people? The University archive of Greifswald said he was quite well known at the time.
I also like to know if he or another Prillevitz (also written as Prillwitz, Prillewitz, Prillevizius, Prillevizii) was working at the University of Stettin. There was a rumour in our family that there was a professor Prillevitz somewhere.
Last question: Does anyone knows something about the University of Stettin in the 17th and 18th centuary? Is there a University Archive of Stettin? Where can I find records of people who worked there (employees)?
Thank you very much.
Greetings,
Paul Prillevitz (Amsterdam/ The Netherlands)
