Intro - suche Wildöhr-Schneider

Gutentag,

Ich bin neu in diese Gruppe. Mein Deutsch ist gar nicht so gut, so I'll
continue in English if that's allowed.
I am Barbara Touburg from The Netherlands. For an acquaintance I am
looking for his German ancestors, namely Heinrich Hermann Woldhr and
Josephine Schneider, their other children and their ancestors.
I have found (Wikipedia)out that Mengede is part of Dortmund now,
Hamborn belongs to Duisburg and Ostfeld can mean several places.

A big thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction!

Freundliche Gre,

Barbara

Hallo Eva,

Vielen dank dafr! Where did you find this information? I'd like to go
and search for more. Their descendant will be very happy!

Kind regards,
Barbara

Goeden dag, Barbara!

Osterfeld, the birth place of Josephine Schneider, is now a place of
Oberhausen which is near to Duisburg and also to Dortmund.

Perhaps you will fing some more information on this site, which is in
German: Osterfeld (Oberhausen) – GenWiki

Viele Gre!

Thanks, Stephan, sadly I couldn't find any genealocigal info there. What
I'm looking for is the German version of www.genlias.nl, the site of the
National Archive. Is there someting like it in Germany?

Barbara

Barbara

No, I am afraid there is nothing comparable to Genlias in Germany. You can
search in the Latter-day saints database. Further on, there are so-called
family books for several towns and villages
(http://www.ortsfamilienbuecher.de/).

But most of the genealogical data from Germany is still not published. So
you have to research yourself in the several archives, rectories and
offices.

If you are lucky, some other genealogists have already worked on the
families you search for.

Perhaps you should try it in the mailing-list for the Ruhrgebiet
(http://list.genealogy.net/mm/listinfo/ruhrgebiet-l). As far as I know there
are some people who search in the Oberhausen area.
