Inquiry

Dear sirs,

I and my family live in Kaliningrad (former Konigsberg in Pr.) in the old house on 3rd floor. The house is at a corner of former Hammerweg and Ziethen str. Recently we have begun to do repair in an apartment. At opening floors we have found a plate with an inscription "Tolckmitt". Probably it is a surname of the man living in this apartment before war. I would like to contact to this man and to inform him, that if he has desire can at any time arrive to us. The room in which Herr Tolckmitt can stop always waits for him.
I shall be very grateful if you will help to find Herr Tolckmitt and inform him or his relatives about my message.
Our address: Kaliningrad, Prospekt Mira 102, 5.

Dear Vladimir,

My quess is that the plate was most likely made in
Tolkemit/Tolckmitt (In older church records spelling
Tolckmitt was frequently used).

Tolkemit was a town with many potters. My ancestors
were potters there. I've traced them back to the year
1710 as potters. There is alot of clay natural to the
region. The clay is red, is the plate you've found
made of this type of clay?

Best regards,
Carmen
