I can not read German. Does anyone who lives near the
Westfalen area read this list?
My grandfather was Heinrich Niedringhaus (Henry) who came to the USA in 1867 after his birth in 1866. I do not
know much about him except that in 1880 census he and mother lived in Centralia, Illinois. He married in 1904 and they moved out of state. They were in Arkanas by 1910 where Henry and Sarah raised their family.
According to family legend, our Henry was related to the
famous Niedringhaus family of Granite City, Illinois, but I do not know how.
Henry's mother Catherine moved to Indiana to live with one of her sister's children. I have lost my correspondence with them.
