Information list exchange to overcome dead ends

"Austausch von Forschungsergebnissen zur Überwindung toter Punkte
durch diese Liste" posted by Reinhard Freytag.

I've loosly translated Reinhard's email below.

Dear genealogists,

This list grows by approximately 10 new subscribers each and every
week with only a few unsubscribing against this growth.

What these numbers indicate is that roughly 500 forum members are new
to the list just this past year.

In order to enhance mutual contact to fill our dead ends It would be
nice if list members who are interested in exchanging data once more
publish their location and name searches here.

We are a bit slow in the summer doldrums and it may be a good time to
accomplish this. The best way to accomplish this might be a brief
reference in the subject line to a particular place and name. Try to
awaken the reader from his slumber with a short but to the point
headline. Most readers are in various lists and can't possibly read
everything. They watch the headers and look for something they
recognize before opening that mail. Obviously the locations should be
relevant to East or West Prussia and not encompass all of Germany. Try
to list only one village/city/county - whatever you have - and then
list a couple names from there. Multiple messages might be best.

I'm going to make a start and hope for lots of participation. I wish
everyone much success, new contacts and a great reaction to your posts
to the OW-Preussen list.
