I am trying to locate the records of the family or person by the name of John Imhoff, born in Hanover 1811.
His son was Gerhard Henry Imhoff born 1837 also in Hanover. Their arrival in the US was noted as 1835 in the port of New Orleans. I would appreciate any help and any instructions on where to write or look.

Please have a look at the Stuhr database on genealogynet.de.
There is Johann Imhoff * 26.5.1811 in Stuhr. But no son Gerhard Henry
