Ignatius Niemoller, born 5 Nov 1848 in Visbeck, Osnabruck

My great-grandfather, Ignatius Caspar Niemoller was born in Visbeck, Grand Duchy of Oldenburg in 1848. I believe he came to the US in 1870.

His naturalization papers dated 8 Sep 1874 say he was then a resident of Carroll County, Iowa, USA.

In 1883, Ignatius married Susan Frances Stone in Adams County Illinois. They moved to Platte County, Nebraska and were members of a Catholic church there. They had three children.

In 1903 Ignatius went to Saskatchewan, Canada and claimed some land there. He returned to Platte County Nebraska by 1920. I have yet to find his obituary or place of burial.

I would like to find related Niemollers, both in Germany and in the US. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can find more? I do not speak or read German.

Thanks,

Jo in Wisconsin USA
