German-reading listers, have your ever heard of "Die Konige der Grimpen"? (Two dots appear over the "o" in the word "Konige" and over the "u" in the word "Burger" in the paragraph below.)
A very kind friend sent me the link below, noting that it contained the name of my ancestor, JOHANN ALBERT RIPPE, who appears on a list of German men who were members of what seemed to be a German club, "Die Konige der Grimpen" and on which my ancestor was listed as "1747 Burger Johann Albert Rippe". Is anyone familiar with this club, what its purpose was and if it still exists in Germany today? My ancestor lived in the Wechold, Eitzendorf, Martfeld area of the earldom of Hoya of the Prussian Province Hannover.
