I am searching for the emigration records/passenger list for Heinrich Peter (Henrique Pedro) Boos :
* 02.05.1837 in Bierben; F. Heinrich Peter Boos, 1809-1863; M. Maria Magdalena Schwenk, 1813- ?
At age 17 in 1854, he emigrated to Rio Grande do Sol, Brasil to join a relative.
On 23.04.1861, he married Appolonia Licks (Lictz) in Campo Born, Rio Grande do Sol, Brasil.
+ 23.12.1899 in Montenegro, Rio Grande do Sol, Brasil.
He became the Patriach of the Brasilian Boos Family.

Heinrich Peter Boos ist am 10.6.1837 in Biebern geboren (Bürgerbuch 1798 -
1900 von Frau Wesner). Sein Vater war Heinrich Peter Boos * 1.4.1809 Altlay
+19.1.1863 Biebern; die Mutter war M. Magdalena Schwenk * 6.6.1813 Reich +
nach Januar 1863. Eine Schiffsliste habe ich nicht. Vermutlich ist er 1854
ausgewandert, aber mit welchem Schiff?

Thank you for confirming the data for Heinrich Peter Boos and his parents. I am familar with Doris Wesner's book, having sent to her some of the information about the Boos Family in New York, where I live.
I understand that in order to emigrate , especially for men of military age, that permission from the local civil authorities was required. Where are such records kept and are they accessible to genealogists ? There has to be records somewhere locally, Simmern ?
