How to find records/census?

Hello Sarah
Looking for Jünke in Hannover (city) you can find them in the city
directories from about 1890 to about 1937/8, I don't recall exactly which I
had looked at. LDS has those films. In the 1942 Hannover City Directory
(Adressbuch) 11 Jünke are listed, I have a copy of this directory. A number
of the census films thatI looked at for the Hannover area gave very little
information, in fact, with the exception of one film, all that was given was
the total number of people of the various communities, rather than individual
families, which we are used to in the States. The census also are not at
regular intervals as here. If you can locate your people in a particular
section of Hannover, then you can find them in church records, baptism and
marriage, but you need to know which church. These films are also available
from LDS. Information is also available from the Standesamt (city clerk), but
you will need to identify yourself as lineal descendant, probably with a
notarized document (passport or such). You would also need to give all dates
and places to obtain copies of birth/marriage/death records. Death records
are probably the easiest to get and usually they include place and date of
birth, parents names, and sometimes spouces name.
Try the films first.
