Hello Donna Allen,
since 1875 all marriages - birth and death also - had to be documented by the civil authori-ties and were of course still documented by the parishes too in case of membership and marri-age by the church. But that change means you can not only hope for an entry in the parish-books, but can try to order a copy from the civil administration. Write to the "Standesamt" of Soltau, which is the office for all actual and elder Personal Documents. If the elder paper are already in the town archive or destroyed you will get news or the wished marriage document from there. Ask for costs. The normal price for a copy is bearable and usually about 10,- or 15,-Euro, needable researches might be more. Ask too for having a fotocopy of the original entry if possible instead of only a transcription on a formular. The adress of the Town Administartion of Soltau should be possibly found under wwww.telefonbuch de and "Gemeindeverwaltung", "Stadt","Stadtverwaltung" or "Verwaltung", instaed of "Standesamt" often "Einwohnermeldeamt" is the right and usuable adress of the office.
Good Luck
Hans Peter Albers, Bienenbüttel
