It has been suggested by a member of the Alsace Genealogy Mailing List that I contact you regarding my family.
My ancestors John (Johann(es) Hoff (1831) and Rosa Miller (Mueller) Hoff (07-14-1829) and daughter Caroline Hoff (05-23-1852) emigrated to the US on 09-26-1854. It is believed that another brother Ben (?Barnet) and possibly another brother Jake accompanied them. John settled in Samsonville, New York, and Ben and Jake settled in Pekin, Illinois. They were Catholic in religion and John stated at his naturalization that he was from Alsace-Lorraine, France. It is further believed that John's parents were Anthony Hoff and Elizabeth Shoelitner.
