I was delighted to find members of the Hachez family of Bremen including Joseph Jean Hachez in the 1796 Bremen Directory. He came to Bremen from Flanders about 1771 and was a trading merchant. He is my fifth great-grandfather through a grandson who came to America.
While I know much of the Hachez story from a detailed history found here - http://www-user.uni-bremen.de/~bremhist/FamHachez.html - it was a great feeling to find a directory listing for him.
