Hilmer/Hillmer Family, Schwei, Schmalenfleth, Struckhausen, Frieschenmoor; Wesermarsch

I have recently been very lucky to have received some help from some very kind people in Germany that have helped to locate information on my HILMER/HILLMER family from the above regions of Germany. Below is some of the information I have received thus far. My connection is through Hinrich Christian Hilmer, born 5 May 1853. He was my great-grandfather who immigrated to America (Nebraska) circa 1885. Unfortunately, it appears most of his siblings died at a very early age. I would love to have contact with any persons still in Germany (or wherever you may be) who may have connections to any of these family members.
Sincerely,
Deb Jahn

Deb; Where in NE? I can do some checking on that trail, as I am from NE and researching my ancestors from Prussia also. (Kuester/Kuster, Schinke, Renner). Jenifer

My family came from the same area of Germany and ended up in eastern
Nebraska - York and Seward Counties,

Jenifer:
I appreciate your kind offer but I believe I have the Nebraska portion
covered pretty well.
Hinrich Christian Hilmer and his wife, Geske Friedericka (Wilberts) and
their three sons immigrated from Germany to Platte County, Nebraska circa
1885. They moved from there to Boone County in 1918. Most of that branch
of the Hilmer family stayed in Platte or Boone Counties in Nebraska.
I am hoping to find descendants of some of the other Hilmer family members
mentioned.
With many thanks,
Deb

Deb; My family presently lives in Platte County, NE. They originally came to WI in 1856 then in 1866 came by wagon train with four more children to Elkhorn Twp, Cuming Co. NE. They were Lutheran farmers. Platte Co., is full of Lutheran farmers from the Oldenburg area. Wonder if you have gotten a story on this huge migration from Oldenburg? I really admire the courage of these people and adventurous spirit. Jenifer (Kuester) Nelson
