My grandfather, John Wolf, came from Schwarme, west of Hannover, the city. Would that have been Low German area? Are there any Wolf families in that area yet? My grandmother, Anna Jagau, came from Hildesheim which is south of Hanover, the city. Would that also have been Low German? Her last name was spelled Jagau here in the US. I am not sure how it was pronounced or how it was spelled in Germany. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. DB
