Help reading a passenger list

I believe the location is indeed Manse. There are other names (Moses, Maria, Martha) in which similar M's are used. The initial letter of Missouri is the only such M on that page.

A big thank you to all of you who helped me with that passenger list!
I've learned so much. A brick wall of many years' standing now has a big
hole in it.

Thanks again,
Marilyn

As I've worked with the three wonderful CDs—Wiefelstede, Varel, and
Jade—I've encountered duplicate records in many instances. A number of
Stulken records are in both the Varel and Wiefelstede CDs and in a small
number of cases, there are duplicate records in all three places.

My question is: did these people attend these different churches so the
events were recorded are at different places—and then later entered at
their "home" churches as well? Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Thanks!
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn!A Ortsfamilienbuch (OFB) is not a church record. It is a reporting about the people of a parish. The authors are interested in finding additional informations about these people. If there is for example only the marriage of a couple in the church records of Varel, the author tried to find the birth and death record and the birth of the children in other parishes. They add this information. And: Varel, Jade and Wiefelstede (and the next will be Rastede) are all from the same authors: the Oltmann brothers! So all informations about these parishes are in one hand. Thanks, Andrea! That explains it! What a gift these two men bring to us.

I'm excited about the possibility of a Rastede OFB. And then after that,
I have a wish list for them: Bad Zwischenahn.
