Help needed

Sirs:
First let me apologize for the use of English. Unfortunately that is the only lanquage I am proficient in. Hopefully you can respond in English.

It was suggested I contact your group's WGfF web page in order to try and get the following needs addressed. If I have sent this message to an incorrect group ... since I am not that familiar with the lay out of Germany ... then kindly let me know which group I need to address and will do so.

I am looking to establish contact with a genealogy researcher in or near the Bergen Birkenfeld region; including the surrounding country side towns. This would be for the purpose of ascertaining the validity of a 'clue' I have regarding a member of my ancestoral family (ZIMMERMAN-KLEINEN) that got married, per church records, January 9, 1753; in Evangelisch-Lutherische, Bergen, Birkenfeld, Pfalz, Bayern.

Am looking for reliable and reputable researchers. I have sent out many messages to others that I have located via a Google search ... and most of them come back as no longer being good. Also, many referred to sites; including one very prominent one on the page wherin I located your society's information ... that being, mosel-saar-pfalz.de - Diese Website steht zum Verkauf! - Informationen zum Thema mosel saar pfalz. as referred to on web site of Regionalseiten offline. (Sure would be nice if folks would update their web pages these days.)

My family, and many others, were in a group of Palatinates that were 'swindled' out of their funds, etc. back in 1764 by one Sieur de Stumpel when he gathered a group from many villages and towns in the Birkenfeld and adjoing regions to go to Nova Scotia. Only thing is, he abandoned them by stranding them in London; and only thru the good fortune of a Lutheran minister there did they ultimately wind up in Carolina colony.

[Hopefully one of the group has been familiar with this group in the past as that would make the process a bit easier.]

Too many towns/villages of the Birkenfeld regional area to list are referred to in a historical book (BLOOD TRAITORS/de Villiers and Hirtle) addressing the experiences of this group. That, plus the 'clue' I refer to above (located in the LDS web site), leads me to seek this assistance. I will be requesting the researcher to assist me in determining if this 'clue' is worth following ... or not. If not, then perhaps he ... or she ... can ascertain for me whether or not the family ZIMMERMAN is of the region ... and ultimately perhaps connecting to a fellow researcher of this family.

It' d really be nice if I could connect to an actual family member ... but that may be a bit far fetched I suppose. It is my hope, and wife also of German ancestry (KLIER) that we could perhaps visit our respective family regions; ie, Birkenfeld and Muenster.

Thank you for your kind help. Again I apologize for the English; and also apologize if my English phrasing does not meet with the Germanic way of writing.

Yours........
