Matchlock used to aim large cross bow only a few matchlocks exist on family
crests
Bolz = Uger. Botz, Bolzli means bolt for the cross bow
Examples are: Hans Boltze near Eblingen 1381 H Boltzli near Zurich 1436
In Hbg spelling is Bolz Bolzmann, Bolzen & Bols, Bolsmann Bolsen

Near Vistula River between Brandenburg Prussia and East Prussia has a
different crest
BOLZ : FLOETKE : KOHNE : Looking for descendants of the FLOETKE family who
arrived in the United States in 1881. Friedrich Floetke was born 1829 in
Kreis Mohrungen, East Prussia. He marrried Louise BOLZ; they had at least
one son, Carl Floetke born 1855. After 1881, this family came to Canada,
specifically Berlin, Ontario - now Kitchener, Ontario. Carl Floetke who
married Elise Kohne (Elizabeth Cain) moved to PA around 1887. He died in
1900. His family then went to WA. See
