Helms and Heinecke around Hannover

HELMS AND HEINECKE in HANNOVER

I am trying to find ancestors in Hannover...Luneburg, Dannenberg, Uelzen,
Luchow and Elsdorf.

Friedrich Gottlieb Heinecke married a Dorothea Frederica Helms daughter of
Georg Wilhelm Helms born 1757 and Dorothea Elisabeth Hartwich birth
unknown?.

Children were: George Friedrich 1821 Elsdorf, Friedrich Wilhelm 1822 Elsdorf
(my ancestor came to Australia in 1853) Carl 1824 Elsdorf and Johanna
Dorothea 1826 Elsdorf. Father was a Government Officer and they lived near
to the border of Elsdorf. Godparents came from Luneburg and Uelzen. This is
all I know about the family.

Father of Georg Wilhelm Helms was Sebastian Helms born 1725 his father was
Heinrick Helms born probably around 1700 or before?

Two Helms Children came to Australia Arnold Helms born 1832 and Bernhard
Helms born 1847.Their parents were Friedrich Wilhelm Helms born 1794 and
Dorothea Lahmeyer birthplace unknown?

Any help appreciated finding more ancestors and decendants

I am in Dusseldorf Germany trying to find information on my Grandfather who
emmigrated to new York in1882. I am going to Luneburg next week and will
see if I can find anything out about either Helms or Heinecke. I will let
you know when I return on the 13th.

Hallo Jenni and Alan,

Johann Heinrich Hellmers(Helms) was an Amtsvogt ( Government Officer) of
Scheessel, appointed on Febr. 28, 1760. He died there in Febr. 1778,
being 64 years old.
Scheessel is a neighbouring parish of Elsdorf.

I supose Johann Heinrich Hellmers(Helms) is identical with Heinrich
Helms, the father of Georg Wilhelm Helms.

Hello Jenni and Alan,

I just notice that Johann Heinrich Hellmers(Helms) cannot be the father
of Georg Wilhelm H. This was as indicated by you Sebastian Helms. If
Johann Heinrich H. was really 64 years old when he died in 1778 and if
Sebastian H. was really born in 1725 both might be brothers.
