My grandfather, Charles Hayen from Baltimore, Maryland died recently
and while cleaning his space I found a letter from Wolfgang Martens
dated 1993. Is Wolfgang still around? The letter says that our
family is from Kirchhatten and that we married in to the Schreber v.
Schreeb family in 1826. The Hayen that married in was Wilhelm Hayen.
They had a son named William who moved to Baltimore and started our
family.
I am leaving for London this week and will be staying for a month.
I'd love to visit Kirchhatten and see the town that my family is
from. I found a website which had pictures of what I think is our
family's coat of arms. The website said that our coat of arms is
displayed somewhere in the church.
Any information that anyone could provide would be wonderful.
