HEINRICH F. BOLLING was born abt 1860 and immigrated from Hanover,
Germany (ship and ports unknown) sometime before 1887 when he was listed
in the Houston, Texas City Directory as a clerk in a hotel.
In an 1888 letter to the parents of Miss MARY SIMON, the Texas-born
daughter of 1844 and 1845 immigrants from Hanover and Alsace-Lorraine,
requesting her hand in marriage, HENRY mentions that Mr. JOHN TOMFOHRDE,
also a native of Hanover and owner of the Houston hotel, knew HENRY's
parents who lived in Hanover.
HENRY and MARY married in 1889 and they had a son named Charles Eugene.
HENRY owned two hotels in Houston and died suddenly of a heart attack in
June 1892. He was 32 years old.
I would very much like to find out details of HENRY BOLLING's life in
Germany, his parents, his other ancestors, his hometown and when, what
ship and through what ports he traveled to North America. If you know
anything about his life or have any suggestions as to how I might
proceed in my search, I would appreciate your reply.
