Gustav Haverbeck b. May16/17,1855 in the State of Hannover. Son of Albert Haverbeck (Mothers name unknown). Gustav immigrated to the US on the Ship Mosel, Captain Neynaber, arrived in New York November 9, 1878. He sailed from Bremen and Southhampton. (Albert did not immigrate)
The little information I have as to where he might have come from states that Gustav came from the old Duchy of Lurenburg.
I am trying to find out where Gustav was born. There are very few Haverbeck families in the US, most having immigrated to South America....Any help would be greatly appreciated. Judith Christopher
Hello Judith,
Were the Haverbecks Catholic? There are some Albert Haverbecks on the
LDS website that are Catholic. That may help to know that. There are
Evangelical churches with a lot of Haverbecks in Detmold.

Hi,
Maybe the name in Lünenburg is what is meant. There was a Duchy of
Brunswick-Lunenburg during the time of the Reformation. There is a city in
Germany by the name of Lüneburg. If they were Protestants, that might be
the place.
