My gr.gr. granfather was Christian HAPKE, born about 1800 in Holtensen,
Hannover, Germany. This is the Holtensen near Hameln. He married Caroline
SCHRADER (or SCHROEDER), probably in or near Holtensen. They had 6
children: Heinrich, born 1823; Frederich, born about 1825; Caroline, born
1828; Johanna, norn 23 July 1831; Christian Wilhelm, born 10 November1839;
August, born 18 February 1843. Believe all were born in the Holtensen area.
They were probably Lutheran or Reformed Lutheran. Is this part of your
family? They came to America about 1854 and settled in northern Illinois.
