Hello Willemine,
the only Stolzenau I could find in Germany is the one West of Hannover and West of Nienburg a.d.Weser. There are about 40 HARTFELD and 9 HARZFELD in Germany in 1998, no one of these - as far as I can see - is out the region of Stolzenau. That might mean, that he came there from elsewhere, otherwise in case of long family tradition in the region even today one should be able to count with several bearer of the name.
But there is another point, one should spend a thought on. The German word for "heart" is "Herz", the Netherland translation should be "Hart". So one should take into consideration, that the change of living places has occurred a different writing, which is as much more likely in comparision with other changes as the sense does not change and the second part has also been translated from "feld" into "veld". So HERZFELD might be the name to look for in Germany.
The nearest-by bearer of your researched name I found in Hannover (town) as HARTFELDER. HARTFELD without the end "-ER" could be found in 1998 only 1 in Herford and 2 in Paderborn.
So much from the name statistical and history side.
