According to "Geschichte des Landes Niedersachen" (Georg Schnath et al. Verlag Ploetz, 1973) p. 41, "Hannoversche Truppen werden in englischen Dienst in Gibraltar, Minorca, Ostindien (nicht im amerikaniscen Unabhangigkeitskrieg) eingesetzt." Eng: Hanoverian Troops in English service were deployed in Gibraltar, Minorca, East India (not in the American Revolution).
Regardless of Wolfgang's interesting info, Braunschweig and Hannover were two separate countries during that period.
However, thousands of Hannover men served (and were killed) in the Kings German Legion (KGL) fighting under Wellington in the Battle of Waterloo. Jane
