My great grandparents were born in the Kingdom Hannover and emmigrated to the
USA in the early 1870's. After several years in St. Louis, Missouri, they
relocated to Otter Tail County, Minnesota, and homesteaded there.

First of all, look in Minnesota. Check census records, land records, and especially church records. The church books are the most likely place to find the name of the town or village they came from in Hannover. Since thousands and thousands of people came from Hannover to the US, and there are hundreds of villages in Hannover, you will need to narrow you search from info that you find here in the US.

For any of us to be able to give you any more specific suggestions, we'll need more details. What names are you looking for? Where in Minnesota did they settle? What church did they attend? When did they come?
