------------------------------I got excited by the name and location. Until I saw kirchdorf. I Have no idea where it is. La Crosse, I would say it is in an area so close to missippi and easily could have come up from Louisianna it makes it harder. Others could have gone mo., iowa illinois. I think Plattville wi was an early destination. Did you check that. Reedsburg,Sauk county is that the same? Any way morman church has films and a few names including Meyer that are of interest to me. I suspect some of mine going there. It is possible they could have something to do with those at winona or wabasha or even goodhue by redwing. and then there is illinois Dupage and accross into iowa. iowa and wi I am told were once connected. Iowa clinton and Jackson county on Misssippi.
st louis mo not far either. I would not rule that out while you are searching.
At least you have the village. You have had great luck.
I just wish my morman church would be open days I have off with out having to go so far into mn for a friday.

There you can get a copy of his birth document with the parents: www.kirche-hannover.de/kirchenbuchamt/Wilfried (Petersen)
