emigrated to the USA in 1874 at the age of 16. I have photographed nearly
all of the Grossalgermissen Catholic Church Books available through the LDS
here but, owing to my lack of knowledge of gothic German handwriting and
Latin, my progress in translating them is very slow. But they contain many,
many references to my Lüke relatives. If by chance you have interest in the
Luke's who came to America from Algermissen, I can give you lots of
