Quoting from Carl HAGEN's obituary: "He was born April 28, 1857 at
Rutenbeck, Criewietz, Germany and married to Mary GRATOPP in Rossow at
Newbuckow Micklenburg, Schwerien, Germany, October 20, 1890."
Mary (Marie) GRATOPP was born October 3, 1860.
My grandmother, Erna Ida Freda HAGEN, was born December 27, 1892 in
Germay, but I do not have any idea where.

Hi Dorothy,
You dove into a good spot. I found your Mary Gratopp and Carl Hagen in my
database. The Gratopp (Gradop, Grad(t)(g)oph) is in my family, and this is
just 'an extra piece of the puzzle" I've picked up along the way. It hasn't
tied in with my line......YET.
Your family is in the Russow Evangelical records. These can be read on LDS
film #0069510.......order it at your nearest Family History Center so you can
make copies of the important records.
Marie Sophie Caroline Johanna GRATOPP was born Russow, Mech-Schwerin, on 3
October 1860, baptized 7 October 1860. Her father is Johann GRATOPP of
Russow, and mother is Luise Magdalene RACKOW. She was confirmed on 21 March
1875. Marriage to Carl Joachim Fredrich HAGEN on 20 October 1890 in Russow.
Carl was born 28 April 1857, in Russow, to Johann Carl Hagen (mother's name
not given in the marriage record......but I'm sure will be on his baptism
record).

You're going to find Russow in an area of the northwest coast of
Mech-Schwerin, between Rostock and Wismar
