Hello everyone,
I just checked whether the Mormons have a film of birth/marriage/death of
Gunterode and noticed on their website that the Arbeitsgemeinschaft fuer
mitteldeutsche Familienforschung family lineage publish books. One of these
is:
Band 27, Wedekind, Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard, Familienbuch G�nterode (Kreis
Heiligenstadt) 1671-1900, sold for 34.00 Euro
Has anyone got a copy of this or other books from the AMF? Would it give
details of death/marriage/births of those living there or is it a more
general kind of book?

Hi,
an Orts-Familienbuch is typically the same as a transcribed but linked
version of the church books of a place. It would track the families, their
children etc from the beginning to a time where privacy laws stop further
publication - as seems to be the case here. If one is doing research in a
place, finding such a secondary source can be worth it's weight in gold.
