Gülrorn

Does anyone know of the town/village Glrorn? This place was inscribed on a German tombstone as a place of birth 1833. I have exhausted all my resources and hope that someone can help. A friend has asked me for this information since she has seen it on a family members tombstone.

Hello, Larry (?),

I think that's a misspelling.

Wilfried (Petersen)

Hi Larry,
I can't find any town by that name. I also think it is not spelled
correctly. That happens on tombstones - my great-grandmother's birth date
on the tombstone was the wrong date (even the year) and her husband was
still living!
Maybe you could get the particular name your friend is looking for and
then we could trace it that way. Sometimes there are very small towns not
listed on maps! Is this family from Hannover?

Could it be Gifhorn, near Braunschweig/Brunswick, Lower Saxony?
