Hello Roy,
I am finally getting around to gathering up my research as far as one branch is concerned which evolves around the Muensterland. In my "travels" through my files I came across your email and wondered where Ozark is? Would your description also apply to living quarters in the Muensterland? I am sorry I am sounding so dumb, but I am just starting to learn.
Also I remember from my childhood that the rowhouses in Kamen/Westfalen still had outhouses and when we visited my grandparents, we had no alternative but to visit those. The street we played on, had cobble stones and made walking very difficult. The cobblestones are still there, but the rowhouses have been modernized since. In the earlier days they used to belong mostly to the miners working at the mine in Kamen.

The Ozarks are very old, mostly worn-down mountains of southern Missouri and
northern Arkansas. Very scenic, with good rivers.

you have got the right website ( the only I found with an English text)
I only wanted to give you a hint, where you can get information on these typical form of houses
when you "google" a little bit with the words "siedlung eisenheim", you will find some more links
but they are all in German, I`m afraid
