My family comes from the border area between Hannover
and Westfalen. In checking the LDS catalog for the
records for Gross Aschen, I see that they are part of
the Spenge records...Wasn't Gross Aschen part of
Hannover and Spenge part of Westfalen? I'm pleased
that the records are available through the LDS, but
curious how and why they might be bundled together.
My other question comes from the same search. In
looking at the Gross Aschen listing in the LDS catalog
they show that part of the parish records include a
Brenner History. When I follow that link in the
catalog, it points me back to the Spenge records.
Since I'm researching the Brenner family, I'm
definitely intrigued, but in the directory of the
microfilms for Gross Aschen/Spenge, there is no
mention of an included Brenner History. The LDS has
about 15 different Brenner histories, but none are
described as being from Gross Aschen...I'm puzzled.
Can anyone shed some light on my questions or help me
understand the situation?
Best Regards,
Larry
