Greifswald Landeskirchliches Archiv (Silesia Church records)

Hi all,

the problem with some church records in Silesia is this: All priests or
pastors have been told since th 1950s to send the records to Breslau (or other
archives) so that they would be better preserved. Unfortunately, not all priests
complied with this. So now we have the situation that some records are still
in the local parsonages (in attics, on sofas, etc.) where they will be
destroyed and are virtually inaccessible.
This is purely the result of disobedience to given orders or instructions.
These records should be taken (if necessary by force) from the individual
parsonages and given to the archives.
The LDS don't microfilm in parsonages but only in archives.
