Subject: Re: [HN] GRAWELMANN or GRAUELMANN or GRAVELMANN ??Hi Bonita
How about Graumann? I just did a search for Grauelmann with Eimke and
Google said "do you mean Graumann?" So I went to that. To the ear, omitting
the "L" makes little difference in the sound. There are quite a few Graumann
listing in the LDS.Barbara
Hi Bonita,
you probabbly will already have checked that, but for to be on the save side. German Tele-phone-book oes not know of any GRAWELMANN with W or any GRAUELMANN with U, but you will have in 1998 about 23 hits for GRAVELMANN with V. What make things a bit seldom is that you find 16 of them on one place in 49835 Wietmarschen, one in Hannover, three in Lingen, one in Nord-horn and two in Berlin. This 75 percent concentration indicates a special family tradition in 49835 Wietmarschen, which is a bit out of the neighbourhood of Eimke, but a good start to trace back the family perhaps to your researched spouse.
Best wishes
Hans Peter Albers, Bienenbüttel
