Greetings to the Oldenburg List
I am researching my Gode ancestors and have been given the information below. I have since written to the archives asking for copies of the records but am wondering if anyone on the list can tell me in which Family Book I might find them. The Family Books of Beane, Rastede and Wiefelstede appear only to have Johann Dirk Gode born on 23 April 1765 in Wüsting who married Margarete Frese from Holle.
Also, if anyone else on the list have these people in their family tree, it would be wonderful to hear from them.
Information received by a very kind person in an email:
"I think all the Gode-Family around Holle belongs together. But I didn't the research
in that family-branch.
But I can give you some ancestors from Johann Dirk Gode * 23 Apr 1765 in Wüsting
died 2 Jul 1793 in Amsterdam. He married Margarete Frese on 3 Dec 1790 in Holle.
So his sonHinrich Gode grow up without his father. Johann Dirk seems to be a "Holland-Gänger".
In that time there was less work in the surrounding for "Heuermann". So they went in summers
to the Netherlands to work there.

Johann Wilhelm Gode (* 1 Apr 1716 in Holle, died 24 Nov 1775 in Wüsting)
he married on 7th May 1754 Margarete Meyer (* 1723 died 27th Jul 1775 in Wüsting)
Her father was Gerd Meyer (* about 1695).
Parents of Johann Wilhelm Gode:
Hans Wilhelm Gode (* 1st Jul 1668) Hausmann in Holle.
He married on 23rd Sep 1691 Anna Gode (* about 1670 in Holle died: 7th Sep 1720 in Holle01.
Parents of Hans Wilhelm Gode:
Claus Gode * about 1640 in Holle who married on 6th Oct 1668 Beke Suhr * about 1645"
