Geisen coud be Giesen,
the book of emigrants from Lingen county (Lengerich included) shows 7 Giese and not Geisen or yours ancestors. But it shows one Bertke:
- Maria Elisabeth Bertke, *11.Aug.1820 Clusorth/Bawinkel, +1850, married to Thynen, emigrated 1848, parents: Heuermann Hermann Gerd Bertke and Catharina Aleid Dulle, source parish Bawinkel
Vörden/Osnabrück is more to south-east, about 60 miles.
I believe, Gieske is not related to Giese.
