Question, I have been researching my gg grandfather (Frederick H Layman)
LEHMANN for a number of years with the only reference to his homeland as
Hannover. I never knew if this was in reference to the City or the Kingdom
of. Yesterday, I found a military document that lists the city as Hannover
and the state as Germany. He left Germany in or around 1856-1857 by what we
believe was an indirect route.
Any suggestions as what my next steps should be would be appreciated.\
