Germany wrote back! RUPPERT

Were there publishers or map makers in your family? British Army used this map in 1925 to plot out one of their camps - don't know how old the map was. I wondered if Frankfurt had any significance to you.

<<Germany. 'Plan von Wiesbaden und Umgebung' [Plan of Wiesbaden and the surrounding area]: map showing streets, buildings, railways and woodland. Drawn, printed and published by Carl Ruppert, Frankfurt-am-Main. Inset: enlargement of the surrounding area.>>

Hi Willemine,

I see that you're off to Cape Town on Wednesday. So I was wondering if,
while you are there, you can looksee if there is any info on any
Ruppert's. It's not such a common surname, so you will probably find
very little. I have recently started researching my Ruppert roots, but
have the disadvantage that I am presently working in the Middle-East. I
know that there is some documents of my gr. gr grandfather in the
archives in Pretoria, and when I visit there in December (God-willing)I
will definitely go there. But I will certainly appreciate it if you can
see if there s anything in Cape Town. I don't know through which port my
gr gr grandfather came, but I know it was in 1900/01 (Carl Max Ruppert
and his wife Amalie Ruppert with 2-year old son Carl Franz Ruppert)

Greetings from the desert.
Max Ruppert (Max)
