German Genealogy (fwd)

Wer kann helfen? Wer erkennt den Ort?

Im sure there was no town existing that is spelled
exactly like this. My suggestion is: SCHWIENIEOKO
(german Eichelswalde), county Sensburg in East
Prussia. Its just a guess.

I am interested to know if you do family research?
  My grandparents came
to America in 1902. I believe they left from
Danzig. My mother always told
me she was born in a town called (it sounded like to
me) Sheb-e-et-ko. I
cannot find it on a map.

Some of my people were from the district of Koslin
-- Kolberg and Korlin.

I have just started researching my mother's family:
Rutz/Giese. My
g-grandfather, Fritz Giese, lived in Stolp I
believe, I have a photo of him in a
uniform that was taken in Stolp.

The ASHHSociety in Walcott, Iowa sent your website
to me.

I note that your taught at Penn State at the Mt.
Alto campus at one time,
also Wilson College and Shippensburg University.
I live in Hagerstown, MD
and belong to the Zion Reformed Church, the oldest
church in town. I note
that you attended a church in Hagerstown, so you
are familiar with Potomac
Street and the town, I am sure.

Thank you for a few words and suggestions, if
possible. Joanne Albright
